Well, T had a great first day of Kindergarden! I walked him into his classroom, and he was definitely excited! I felt a little lump in my throat as we walked by all the little kiddos in their new outfits, and sporting new backpacks and lunchboxes, but thankfully I didn't shed a tear. I think my son would have been a bit freaked out if I had :-) We walked in, said hi to his teacher and then he found his seat. I gave him a kiss, told him I would see him at the bus stop and then I walked out. I'm proud of my big boy!!
In the afternoon, I met him at the bus and he had a great day! He loved the bus because it 'went fast' and even saw a boy from his pre-school class. He explained their behavior system (which I don't quite understand), and if you get pink you can choose something from the treasure box. He told me he wanted to tell his teacher that he wouldn't take something because his sister would freak out if she didn't get something too. Oh, he is so sweet! I let him know it's OK to take something from the treasure box, and his sister would have to be OK with it. He also 'lost' his lunch box - I think someone else grabbed it by accident, but he told me he saved his sandwich crust for his baby sister. Again, so sweet! I worried he would stress or get nervous, but he was excited to go back! His sister, on the other hand, did not have a good day going to a new school without her big brother.
